To Meet you Again

By Matt Bruce

Who knows where I'd be,
Without the time you were willing to spend,

Creation is truly bought and yet borrowed,
Advanced beyond the shadows by grace,

No more middle class and no more senseless lass,
Only redemption in the memories time can’t erase,

To know you was a smile from the eyes of God,
In the best of times we could flourish,

You live strong in the hearts of those who loved you,
In the minds of the souls you nourished,

I carry your secrets as my own,
Grateful for the trust pursued,

Thankful for those days on the road,
And the worlds we perused,

I feel your spirit in the room as I write,
Reminding me of the peace you brought to my storm,

How we never willed to obey,
Or strove to conform,

And knowing without any physical reminder,
I still own the gift of the heart,

Because we gave that to each other,
I can't wait to meet in a place we don't depart…

I was born and raised in Marietta, Georgia
My education started after I left school.
I have never showcased my work beyond sharing with a couple friends when the mood strikes.
